Services
Specialist services in sexual risk — rigorous, independent, and compassionate
Children's safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything I do. I offer a range of specialist services to local authorities, statutory agencies, and private clients across England and Wales — each grounded in evidence-based practice, a commitment to meeting children's needs, and care for everyone whose life is shaped by this work.
Independent assessment
Assessments & Expert Reports
Rigorous, court-ready assessments and expert reports that keep children's needs and safety at the centre of analysis and planning.
I provide independent assessments and expert reports covering sexual offending by adults, parental protective capacity, and harmful sexual behaviour in young people. My assessments are evidence-based and thorough - drawing on established risk frameworks, structured professional judgement tools, and screening tools where relevant - and are written with clarity for professional and legal audiences. Crucially, they are grounded in the question that matters most: what does this mean for the child, and what needs to change for them to be safe and able to thrive? Risk does not exist in isolation. I situate it within its full context — the individual's trauma history, relational patterns, and the structural realities that have shaped what choices were available to them — alongside protective factors and the capacity of those around the child to understand and respond. The result is an assessment that is not only defensible in court but genuinely useful for planning and decision-making.
- Forensic risk assessments for courts and child protection agencies
- Aetiology of offending evaluations
- Harmful sexual behaviour assessments for young people
- Capacity to protect assessments
- Specialist assessment reports for family and criminal proceedings
Therapeutic social work
Therapeutic Interventions
Evidence-based therapeutic social work with individuals who present a sexual risk, and with the protective parents, carers, and families around them.
A child's safety depends not only on reducing the risk posed by one person, but on strengthening the capacity of everyone around them to protect, attune, and respond. I offer individual therapeutic social work with adults and young people who present a sexual risk, and with the protective parents, carers, and family members navigating the impact of that risk on their own lives and on the child they are trying to keep safe. My approach is evidence-based and relationally grounded — drawing on schema-based therapy, motivational interviewing, attachment theory, and psychodynamic approaches. I work with the understanding that lasting change requires being met with honesty and genuine care. Please note: my therapeutic work is with young people and adults, not with younger children.
- Individual work with adults convicted of or presenting a sexual risk
- Work with young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour
- Psycho-educational programmes for individuals and families
- Protective parent and family support
- Online sexual offence intervention programmes
Professional development
Training & Consultancy
Specialist training and consultancy for local authorities, multi-agency partnerships, and statutory organisations.
Effective child protection in this area requires practitioners who understand not just risk, but the full human complexity behind it - the trauma, attachment, and relational dynamics that shape harmful behaviour, and the structural contexts that make certain choices more or less available to the people they work with. I design and deliver tailored training for social workers, psychologists, probation officers, and child protection staff, building both conceptual understanding and practical skill: using risk assessment frameworks with confidence, holding difficult conversations, and working with the whole family system around a child. Training draws on 25 years of direct practice and is grounded in the current evidence base. Consultancy is available for individual cases, team development, and organisational review.
- Risk assessment and management training
- Harmful sexual behaviour training for practitioners
- Multi-agency case consultation
- Organisational review and development
- Bespoke training design and delivery
Reflective practice
Professional Supervision
Specialist supervision for professionals working with individuals who present a sexual risk and/or their families.
This work asks practitioners to hold a great deal - the needs of children, the complexity of families, the weight of risk, and the demands of systems that are often under strain. I offer professional supervision to social workers, therapists, and other practitioners working in child protection and criminal justice contexts. Supervision is a structured, reflective space to think carefully about complex cases, to stay connected to what children need, and to manage the emotional demands of work that matters deeply. I bring both clinical expertise and a compassionate lens to supervision — supporting practitioners to work with greater confidence and clarity, and to sustain themselves in a demanding field.
- Individual supervision for social workers and therapists
- Group supervision for teams
- Case consultation on complex sexual risk presentations
- Reflective practice support for practitioners working with families
